Behavioral Consultation for Parents & Caregivers
If your child’s behavior at home is creating stress, disrupting routines, or making daily life more challenging than needs to be, this service is designed for you.
Home life can be exhausting when challenges such as refusal, aggression, difficulty following directions, or conflicts with siblings become frequent. Through targeted consultation, I help families understand what is driving these behaviors, identify strategies that fit your household, and create a practical plan that works in real life.
The process focuses on parent training, coaching, and support planning. This is designed to help you respond effectively, prevent problem behaviors, and reinforce positive ones. Together, we design step-by-step strategies you can implement right away, with ongoing troubleshooting as needed.
Initial consultation includes a discussion of your family’s priorities, a review of current routines and challenges, and the development of a tailored plan you can put into action immediately.
School-Related Behavioral Consultation for Families
If your child is struggling with behaviors that interfere with their learning, isn’t making progress on IEP or 504 goals, or is facing school refusal, avoidance, or disciplinary issues, this consultative service is designed for you.
School systems can be overwhelming to navigate, especially when your child’s behavioral needs aren’t met or supported effectively. Through targeted consultation, I help families understand what’s going wrong, why it might be happening, and what steps can be taken to improve support and accountability.
Initial consultation includes a records review to help me understand what is currently being done to help your child at school.
IEP & 504 Plan Review
– Detailed analysis of your child’s current support plan, accommodations, and goals to assess whether they’re appropriate, measurable, and being followed.
Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP) Evaluation
– Reviewing your child’s BIP (or helping you advocate for one) to ensure it’s rooted in function-based strategies—not just generic consequences.
Guidance with School Avoidance & Refusal
– Structured plans to address school-related anxiety, refusal, or chronic absenteeism—developed in collaboration with you and your child’s school team.
Discipline & Behavior Concerns
– Help understanding if school discipline is appropriate, fair, or a sign of unmet behavioral needs. This includes reviewing suspension patterns or manifestation determinations.
Support During School Meetings
– Coaching for how to advocate effectively during IEP/504 meetings—or direct participation (as a consultant) in those meetings when needed.
Planning for Home-School Consistency
– Strategies to align what’s happening at school with your routines at home, so behavior plans and expectations are consistent and sustainable.
This hands-on, strategic support is available to help you advocate for your child and get the right systems in place. The goal is simple. We work together to help your child succeed at school, while reducing stress and uncertainty at home.
If your child, or a student you care about, is struggling with behavior challenges at school, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Schedule an Initial Consultation today and let’s work together to create a plan for success.
